After our stay in Kyoto, it was time to go to Tokyo, as that was the city from which our flight home departed. We had scheduled one full day in Tokyo to get at least a taste of the city. Our hotel was perched well above the surrounding skyline which afforded us a rather fabulous view. This image may well be the most memorable one of the city for me.

I had originally intended to just briefly mention our time in Tokyo at the end of the last blog post about Kyoto, since this part of our trip was relatively un-eventful -- we were all pretty much exhausted at this point. However, after looking through our photos of the imperial palace, I figured there was just enough to merit a separate post.

The big thing we did in Tokyo was to visit the imperial palace. Much of it was closed for some sort of royal business. The gardens which we were able to see were nice, nonetheless. Other than that there is little else to say about our activities in Tokyo.

These last three posts have been a rather bland descriptions of what we did where. I intend to finish off this series with a post containing some of my thoughts on the trip in general, as well as some amusing anecdotes not mentioned previously. Until then, please enjoy these images of Tokyo.
